What is a RMT?
A Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) is an individual who has undergone extensive training in the field of anatomy, philology, pathology, treatments, among many other subjects at a Collage recognized by the government of British Columbia and the Collage of Massage Therapist British Columbia (CMTBC)
RMT's complete clinical hours where they can gain hands on experience in a controlled setting to provide safe and effective treatment to the public.
After completing their education, RMT's then take part in practical and written exams closely monitored by the CMTBC to make sure they are up to the competency standards expected. Upon successful completion of these exams, the therapists gain the title of "registered" massage therapist.
In order to keep the title of Registered massage therapist, they are required to maintain their knowledge and keep up to date with new health sciences by completing 24 Continuing Education Credits every 2 years. This assures maintenance of high professional standards and quality care of their clients.
